Tash's Story

Having 2 children within 2 years took its toll on my weight. I was up 25kg from my pre-baby weight and I had found myself on a downward cycle where I would eat because I was unhappy with how I looked. I had a wardrobe full of beautiful dresses I couldn’t fit and was left with baggy t-shirts and track pants to live in. 


I was very much the type of person who would have great intentions of beginning my diet on Monday, but Monday would never arrive and before I knew it we would have had takeaways each night of that week. It got to the stage where I didn’t want to go out anymore and my self esteem was at an all time low, so I knew I had to make a change. 

I reached out to the world of Facebook and Cherie found me (and I am so happy that she did).


I was so nervous going in to the studio for the first time, I hadn’t worked out for a couple of years. I wasn’t sure what would be expected of me, would I be able to keep up with everyone else? As soon as I stepped through the door I felt welcomed by not only the trainers but the other ladies in the class. During my first class I felt empowered and motivated and realised that I can do this. Also surprisingly, I had loads of fun. I soon found myself signing up for my first meta-challenge. I was scared and apprehensive about attempting it. How would I manage 3 classes a week? Would I be able to keep it up for 6 weeks? Am I going to be only eating lettuce for the next 6 weeks? But I soon found out I had nothing to worry about, sure it was tough but Cherie and Kate were so supportive throughout the entire journey I knew that I could keep it up.


I now understand about nutrition and how to fuel my body and even though I follow an eating plan I never feel as though I am ‘on a diet’, I feel as though it is a lifestyle change that I can continue long term.



Metafit and Metapwr at The Fitness Box has changed my life. I have been doing it for almost a year now and I am hooked. I look forward to coming to class, some days I cant wait to get to the studio because that 30 minutes is my time, time which I can push my body to its limits and I can focus on myself. It is amazing how incredible you feel after a 30 minutes metafit or metapwr session. 


Cherie and Kate make sure that you work to your full potential at each class and push you to  squat deeper, lift heavier and go faster and they certainly know how to get results. Even my dog is happier because now he gets to come out running with me. My body is still a work in progress but I am confident that with The Fitness Box I will achieve my goals.
